this week's honorary resident of jeterville...

Jessamyn West

I 'met' Jessamyn a few years ago when I first started my foray into the world of web pages. I stumbled across her wonderfully informative and ecclectic site while searching for information about Richard Brautigan -- one of my all-time favorite authors.

After reading the Brautigan stuff, I continued exploring Jessamyn's very intriguing site -- which includes one of the best damned journals on the web -- and stumbled across a page that begged the question

"Where do all you people come from?"

On this page she commented that her hit count had sky-rocketed over the past few days and she was wondering just who was responsible for this??? Well, considering just how much I enjoyed her site, I decided to tell her exactly where I came from and how I managed to find her site. My initial note was the start of our cyber-correspondence that has persisted for about 3 years now -- she even remembered my birthday last year!

Although we've never met in person, we have sent periodic e-mails to each other ever since that first note -- the most recent was just a couple weeks ago. Oh! We came close to meeting a couple times. Once we were supposed to meet for a beer, but due to conflicting schedules this never worked out. The other time was in line at the Seattle International Film Festival for a screening of 'Henry Fool' -- a Hal Hartley film. The fact we never met there was because I got there extremely late, and ended up somewhere near the end of the freaking line! My bad...

I still visit her site on a daily basis to see what's up! You should too. I think that you will find her style captivating and her exploits completely fascinating! All you have to do is *click* on her link on my links page, or simply *click* one of the links I've provided within this text, inlcuding the picture of Jessamyn and her cat -- P Zesto -- above.

Anyway, if it wasn't for the inspiration I got from Jessamyn and her wonderful site I probably never would have created my first page -- The Rage Page -- and I certainly would have never had the courage to produce my own periodic journal. So to thank her, I have made her the very first honorary resident of jeterville.

Thanks Jessamyn! You truly are a Cyber Goddess!!!

Take Me Back...
